Polished Taj Mahal Quartzite

A polished finish gives Taj Mahal quartzite a smooth, glossy surface that reflects light and brings out the depth of its ivory-beige ground and soft veining. It is the finish most buyers picture when they think of this stone, and the one that photographs best in showrooms and kitchens.

Where polished works best

Polished Taj Mahal is a strong choice for kitchen islands and perimeter countertops, bathroom vanities, fireplace surrounds and feature walls where the stone should read as bright and luminous. Because quartzite is harder than marble, the polish holds up well under daily use, although the surface should still be sealed and any slab should be checked with a simple acid-drop test before fabrication.

Things to consider

A high gloss shows fingerprints, water spots and fine surface marks more than honed or leathered finishes, so households that want a lower-maintenance surface sometimes prefer those alternatives. Polished slabs also show vein movement more vividly, which is an advantage for a bookmatched island but can feel busy on very large unbroken surfaces.

Ordering polished slabs

We supply polished slabs in standard 2 cm and 3 cm thickness, packed on A-frames in export bundles, or fabricated cut-to-size and shipped in wooden crates. Small orders go by LCL or door-to-door DDP; larger projects ship by full container. Tell us the finish, thickness and approximate square footage and we will reply with current slab photos.

Photos show a specific slab or a completed project. Natural color and veining vary from block to block, so we send numbered photos of the actual slabs before you confirm an order.
