Surface finish
Leathered Taj Mahal Quartzite
Leathering brushes the surface of Taj Mahal quartzite to create a gentle texture with a soft, diffused sheen. The natural pattern stays visible, but the stone takes on a tactile, almost suede-like feel that many designers choose for a more organic look.
Where leathered works best
Leathered Taj Mahal is popular for kitchen countertops in busy households because the texture hides fingerprints, crumbs and water marks far better than a polish. It is also used on outdoor kitchens, bar tops, fireplace surrounds and feature walls where a touchable surface adds character.
Things to consider
The texture follows the mineral structure of each slab, so harder veins stand slightly proud of the surface. Edges are usually finished to match. Leathered surfaces hold sealer well; a quick wipe with a damp cloth keeps the texture clean.
Ordering leathered slabs
We leather slabs at our factory in 2 cm and 3 cm thickness and can also leather cut-to-size pieces. Packing is on A-frames or in wooden crates, shipped by LCL, DDP or full container depending on quantity. Ask for a sample tile if you want to compare the three finishes side by side before deciding.
Photos show a specific slab or a completed project. Natural color and veining vary from block to block, so we send numbered photos of the actual slabs before you confirm an order.
